Hafler Terms and Definitions
Trans•nova - (TRANSconductance Nodal Voltage Amplifier) circuitry elegantly sidesteps constraints of traditional solid state design. Trans•nova "Power Gain" circuitry configures power MOSFETs to provide voltage and current gain with fewer stages, greatly reducing signal path-generated noise and crosstalk.
U.S. Patent - 4,467,288 Transnova Power Amplifier

Trans•ana - (TRANSconductance Active Nodal Amplifier) circuitry, the latest amplifier thinking from Hafler engineers, refines the Trans•nova concept, offering high levels of performance and reliability, in a simpler, lower cost circuit.

DIAMOND - (Dynamically Invariant Amplification Optimezed Nodal Drive) circuit topology provides the linearity of a Class A amplifier stage witht he headroom and efficiency of Class B. DIAMOND circuitry delivers up to 14dB of additional dynamic range in the input stage, delivering uncompromised audio.
U.S. Patent - 5,673,000 Diablo
U.S. Patent - 5,936,467 DIAMOND Mosfet Driver Circuit

Surface Mount Technology - (SMT) Automated manufacturing affixes micro-resistors, capacitors and solid state devices directly to a circuit board. This allows Hafler engineers to fine tune the signal path within hairline tolerances. SMT eliminates manufacturing errors, reduces hum and noise, makes more efficient us of space,a nd elevates overall standards of performance to a new high.

Flat Spiders - provide more linear control of the cone, reducing cone resonances and breakup, resulting in superior reproduction and virtual elimination of mechanically induced colorations.

Santoprene Rubber Surrounds - provide optimal linearity of cone travel and lowered distortion in the voice and bass ranges.
